Disc Dog Seminar
Presenter is Alisa Vargas
Seminar will be held on Sunday, September 10 from 9:00am-2:30pm Rain Date: Sunday, September 24.
This seminar is geared towards new, novice, and intermediate teams looking to begin or improve their disc dog skills. For handlers, we will go over a variety of discs, the different organizations (and their rules), and the basic toss and fetch back hand throw. For dogs, we will teach them how to chase, track, bite, catch and retrieve a disc. Each team will leave with the knowledge and know how to compete in a basic toss and fetch style format. If time allows, we will cover some other toss and fetch style games.
Alisa has a passion for sharing her love for disc with others. She strives to provide each team with individualized coaching to maximize each team’s learning experience while focusing on teamwork, connection and safety. She has taught disc to several breeds ranging from Doberman Pinchers to Boston Terriers. Intro to Flying Disc is a fun day filled with loads of information to get you and your teammate off on the right foot (or paw!)
Alisa has been training and competing in Flying Disc since 2009 and works with her 2 border collies, Brandy and Quincy.
