Adoption Counselor Experienced volunteers assist staff in processing adoptions.
Adoption Greeter Welcome visitors escort them through the cattery and/or kennel; telling them about the adoptable animals.
Agility Trials
Assistant Kennel Attendant Assist the staff in cleaning the kennel and cattery. Available slots everyday in kennel and cattery from 8:30 - 11:00 AM

Canine Coach Madison Pick up a dog at the shelter, go to the training and behavior center, work individually on obedience, take a walk around downtown Madison, return to the shelter. Slots open daily, orientation required.
Canine Coach North Branch Pick up a dog at the shelter, go to the training and behavior center, work individually on obedience, take a walk around downtown Madison, return to the shelter. Slots open daily, orientation required.
Cat Construction Construct and install cat tunnels and sun shades
Cattery Cleaner Cleans cages of cats
Cattery Cleaning
Clerical
Critter Camp Counselor Assist with all activities of critter camp for the week. Counselor must have interview with Education Coordinator before being accepted for the job.
Dog Training School Help with training
Dog Walking Hour long sessions available everyday. Orientation required.
Doggie Day Camp
Doggy Day Camp Romp and play with dogs who come to Doggy Day Camp during the day. Morning and afternoon shifts available Mondays through Thursdays. If you love dogs and are energetic this is the job for you!
Events Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help St. Hubert's host a variety of fundraising events. Duties can include distributing fliers, set up, break down, staffing tables, traffic control, registration, dog monitoring and more.
Feline Friends Madison Feline friends are needed both at the shelter in Madison and at our off-site adoption location at the PETCO in East Hanover. Both jobs require handling and socializing the cats. Orientation and training provided.
Feline Friends North Branch Feline friends are needed both at the shelter in North Branch and at our off-site adoption location at the PETCO in Milltown. Both jobs require handling and socializing the cats. Orientation and training provided.
Feline Friends PETCO PETCO is located at 150 State Route 10 in East Hanover. Volunteers are needed twice daily to clean the cubbys, feed and water the cats, socialize the cats, and process adoptions.
Foster Care-Madison Volunteers are needed on an as needed basis to temporarily foster kittens and dogs. Interested applicants should complete foster application.
Foster Care-North Branch Volunteers are needed on an as needed basis to temporarily foster kittens and dogs. Interested applicants should complete foster application.
Front Desk Help The heart of the shelter. Welcome visitors, escort them through the kennel and/or catter, answer questions. Connect them to an adoption counsleor if needed. Answer phones, help with office work, light cleaning. Shifts daily from 9am to 6pm excellent people skills and telephone manner are imperative.
Humane Education Volunteer Instructors are needed to help teach young students and scouts basic information about dogs and cats. Qualifications: enthusiasm, a sense of humor, and flexibility during the day. A background in education is helpful but not mandatory. Attendance at teacher training workshop is required.
Off site Adoption Events Assist staff in transportating animals and materials to off-site venues. Represent St. Hubert's by answering questions about the shelter and the animals up for adoption and distributing materials. Some of the venues will be for cat adoptions and some for dogs. This is a great opportunity to meet other volunteers and get to know the staff.
Paws for People Events Community events where certified therapy teams can take their pets to represent St. Hubert's. As needed basis.
Paws for People Visits Volunteers take certified therapy pets to facilities who request pet therapy services. Visits generally last one hour. Volunteers must become certified with the pet who will be accompanying them.

Playmates
Training Assistant Assist the trainers at the Training and Behavior Center. Must have taken classes through off leash wonders. Availability changes from session to session. Please contact the Volunteer Office for more information.
